Overview

Mount Kenya, standing at 5,199 meters, offers one of Africa’s most rewarding trekking adventures. The 5-day Mount Kenya Chogoria Sirimon Traverse combines two scenic routes, ensuring a varied and exciting experience.

The trek begins on the Chogoria side, well known for its lush forests, sparkling rivers, and dramatic valleys. Along the way, you will enjoy breathtaking views of Lake Ellis and the stunning Gorges Valley. Moreover, the gradual climb allows you to acclimatize comfortably while appreciating the unique highland vegetation.

Reaching Point Lenana at sunrise is undoubtedly the highlight of the journey. From this vantage point, hikers are rewarded with sweeping views across Mount Kenya’s rugged peaks and far into the Kenyan plains. In addition, the experience of standing on Africa’s second-highest mountain creates lifelong memories.

The descent via the Sirimon route provides a striking contrast to the ascent. This side features vast moorlands, alpine scenery, and a chance to spot unique wildlife species. Therefore, the traverse ensures hikers experience both the beauty of Chogoria and the calm openness of Sirimon.

Wildmont Safaris ensures a seamless trekking experience with experienced guides, quality camping gear, and reliable support teams. If you are considering longer adventures, you may also explore our 6-Day Mount Kenya Safari for a deeper experience.
