Overview

Mount Kenya, Africa’s second-highest mountain at 5,199 meters, offers one of the most rewarding multi-day treks. The 6-Day Mount Kenya Sirimon Chogoria Traverse combines two scenic trails, creating an adventure filled with variety and natural beauty.

The journey begins on the Chogoria side, where dense forests, bamboo thickets, and sparkling rivers welcome hikers. Along the trail, you will encounter Lake Ellis and the dramatic Gorges Valley, both offering spectacular photo opportunities. Moreover, the gradual ascent provides an excellent chance to acclimatize while enjoying the stunning surroundings.

Summiting Point Lenana at sunrise is the highlight of the trek. From this vantage point, you can admire the rugged peaks of Mount Kenya and sweeping views across the Kenyan highlands. In addition, the golden morning light makes the experience unforgettable.

The descent follows the Sirimon route, which contrasts beautifully with Chogoria. Wide moorlands, alpine meadows, and unique wildlife sightings accompany you down the mountain. Therefore, hikers experience both lush forests and open landscapes in one balanced adventure.

At Wildmont Safaris, our experienced guides and support teams ensure comfort and safety throughout the trek. We provide reliable camping gear, hearty meals, and personalized service. If you are seeking a shorter adventure, consider our 4-Day Mount Kenya Hike via Chogoria–Sirimon. For official park regulations and conservation details, visit the Kenya Wildlife Service page.
