This Amboseli Tsavo Safari is the perfect way to experience the incredible diversity of Kenya’s wildlife and landscapes in just four unforgettable days. Starting from Nairobi, the adventure takes you through three of the most scenic and wildlife-rich parks in the southern circuit — Amboseli National Park, Tsavo West, and the lesser-known but charming Taita Hills Wildlife Sanctuary.
Your journey begins in Amboseli, one of Kenya’s most iconic parks, where vast open plains stretch beneath the towering snow-capped peak of Mount Kilimanjaro. Here, you’ll witness large herds of elephants moving freely across the landscape, along with zebras, buffalos, and numerous bird species. The dramatic mountain backdrop provides some of the most photogenic moments in any African safari.
Next, you’ll head to Tsavo West — known for its dramatic volcanic terrain, lava flows, and underground springs. A visit to the crystal-clear Mzima Springs, where hippos and crocodiles swim below the surface, is often a highlight. The park is also home to leopards, elephants, and elusive black rhinos.
Finally, unwind in the tranquil Taita Hills Wildlife Sanctuary, a private conservancy that offers excellent game viewing in a serene, uncrowded setting. It’s a great spot to enjoy sunset game drives, spot lions and giraffes, or simply take in the peaceful savannah views from your lodge.
If you’re planning a longer trip, you might also enjoy our 5-Day Maasai Mara Safari — the perfect northern circuit complement to this southern route.
Whether you’re a first-time visitor, a seasoned traveler, or a wildlife enthusiast, this Amboseli Tsavo Safari offers the right mix of adventure, relaxation, and breathtaking beauty.

Upon arrival at Jomo Kenyatta International Airport, our team will warmly welcome you to Kenya. After a safari briefing, journey south through the Maasai homelands to Amboseli National Park. Stop for lunch before embarking on your first game drive, where you’ll have the chance to see Amboseli’s famed large elephant herds, along with giraffes, zebras, and lions, all set against the stunning backdrop of Mt. Kilimanjaro. Conclude the day with dinner and an overnight stay at your lodge within the park.

Start your day with breakfast, soaking in the majestic views of Kilimanjaro. Then, drive to Tsavo West National Park, passing the striking Shaitani Lava Flow, a remarkable volcanic formation. Arrive in time for lunch before enjoying an afternoon game drive. Explore Tsavo West’s diverse wildlife, including elephants, leopards, hippos, and crocodiles, as well as its unique attractions like the Mzima Springs. Dinner and overnight will be at your lodge in Tsavo West.

After breakfast, head to Taita Hills Wildlife Sanctuary, known for its lush vegetation and scenic landscapes. Enjoy game drives as you marvel at the rich diversity of wildlife, including buffalos, antelopes, lions, and bird species that thrive in this sanctuary. Lunch, dinner, and an overnight stay will be at a lodge nestled within this serene and picturesque setting.

Enjoy a leisurely breakfast before beginning your journey back to Nairobi. Relish the last glimpses of Kenya’s stunning scenery as you drive through the countryside. Arrive in Nairobi in the afternoon for a farewell lunch. Later, you’ll be transferred to Jomo Kenyatta International Airport for your departure or next adventure.
You’ll have the chance to see elephants in Amboseli, lions and other predators in Tsavo West, and a mix of plains game and unique bird species in Taita Hills. Each park offers something special!
Absolutely! This itinerary is designed for everyone, from seasoned adventurers to first-time safari-goers. It’s family-friendly and includes guided activities to ensure you make the most of your experience.
This safari can be enjoyed year-round, but the dry seasons (June–October and January–March) are perfect for wildlife spotting as animals gather around water sources.
You’ll stay in comfortable lodges or luxury tented camps, each offering stunning views, delicious meals, and a cozy place to unwind after a day of adventure.
The distances are manageable, with scenic drives between the parks that offer opportunities to spot wildlife and soak in Kenya’s stunning landscapes. Rest stops are included to keep the journey enjoyable.
