Overview

This 4-Day Maasai Mara Nakuru Safari is the perfect introduction to Kenya’s rich wildlife and diverse landscapes. Designed for wildlife lovers, photographers, and anyone looking for an authentic safari experience, this journey combines two of Kenya’s most celebrated parks: Lake Nakuru National Park and the world-renowned Maasai Mara.

Your adventure begins in Nairobi and heads toward Lake Nakuru National Park, nestled in the Great Rift Valley. Known for its stunning lake views and vibrant birdlife, Nakuru is home to flamingos, pelicans, and more than 400 bird species. The park also offers excellent chances to spot rhinos, leopards, giraffes, and even the elusive tree-climbing lions. It’s a small but rewarding park that sets the tone for your wildlife journey.

After an overnight stay near Nakuru, your safari continues to the Maasai Mara National Reserve, one of Africa’s top safari destinations. Famed for its rolling savannahs, abundant wildlife, and Big Five sightings, the Mara delivers unforgettable game drives across its golden plains. Between July and October, the reserve becomes the stage for the Great Wildebeest Migration, where millions of wildebeest and zebras cross into the Mara from Tanzania in a high-stakes journey for survival — read more about it here.

In between game drives, relax in comfortable lodges or tented camps and enjoy delicious meals surrounded by nature. You’ll be guided by experienced local safari experts, ensuring you get the best wildlife encounters and insights throughout the trip.

If you’re considering other safari combinations or have more time, check out our 5-Day Maasai Mara Safari for a deeper exploration of Kenya’s premier wildlife destination.
