Enjoy a captivating 4-day hiking adventure combining the Naro Moru and Sirimon routes. This trek provides hikers with the opportunity to experience various landscapes, from dense montane forests to high-altitude moorlands and rugged peaks.
The journey begins through the fascinating NaroMoru forest, ascends to the summit at Point Lenana, and descends through the picturesque Sirimon route.
Depart from NaroMoru town and head to NaroMoru Gate. Begin your 3.5-hour hike through the captivating montane forest, bamboo, and giant heather zones before reaching the high-altitude moorland. Arrive at Met Station Camp at 3300m after covering 9 km, where you will spend the night.
Depart from Met Station Camp and continue your ascent to Mackinders Camp, situated at Tereki Valley. The 11 km hike involves a 1200m ascent, taking you through diverse terrains and offering stunning views. Spend the night at Mackinders Camp in preparation for the summit attempt.
Begin your hike around 2 am, heading through Austrian Hut to reach Point Lenana at 4985m. Arrive at the summit in time to witness the breathtaking sunrise and panoramic views of the peaks. After savoring the moment, descend to Shipton's Camp via the Sirimon route for breakfast. Continue your descent to Old Moses Camp at 3300m, covering approximately 20 km with a mix of ascent and descent. Spend your last night on the mountain at Old Moses Camp.
After an early morning breakfast at Old Moses Camp, commence your descent through the rainforest for about three hours, covering 9 km to Sirimon Gate at 2650m. From there, catch your travel vehicle to Nanyuki town and transfer back to Nairobi, arriving early in the evening.
